Health and Safety

Being ahead of the pack means that the scenery is always changing for us.  Whilst we’re ahead in the technology-focused services that we provide, we also believe that we need to look after the health and safety of our clients and staff.

Procedure and protocol are of top priority and we are dedicated to ensuring full compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (85 of 1993).  In so doing, we are constantly aware that adequate precautions are taken to prevent injuries, incidents and poor-health of all our staff and clients for activities pertaining directly to contracted work between Evolve and the client. Evolve undertakes to train our employees in Occupational Health and Safety issues so as to ensure:

- Competency in the workplace
- Emergency readiness
- Awareness of the potential hazards implicit in their workplace and on-site activities
- Highlight the scope of authority in terms of Occupational Safety and Health control, clearly stipulated when issues of incident management are addressed

In addition to this, employees are appointed and trained for first aid, team leadership and as Health and Safety Representatives in order to assist in the management and monitoring of Occupational Health and Safety within the company. Annual medical check-ups are conducted across the Evolve workforce to ensure that employees are fit to work.  All staff are supplied with, and required to wear, personal protection equipment whilst on site and regular checks of tools and vehicles are conducted and recorded for reports and inspections. Evolve periodically conducts Occupational Hygiene Surveys, Management of Change Assessments and Evaluations, and Hazard Identification Risk Assessments (HIRA’s) in order to strategically forecast and plan for any potential work place risks.
